yes that’s the link to my new song in which I featured a great friend of mine Chics Bad Boy Slim who also wrote the song. Chics produced the song and after voicing it in my studio we took it to Mekoyo’s studio for the final mix which just gave it the final finish I was looking for. Wondered why I hadn’t blogged about it since its on multiple blogs at the moment? Now I have. Yo Tha Baddest

How did anyone survive without Google?  I almost can’t fathom it.

If I think about my own, personal use of Internet searches, the bar graphs would be short at first.  Little toes in the water here and there, mostly for fun or curiosity.  No real conception of how powerful is the tool.  I’d searched on Yahoo!, Ask Jeeves, Altavista, Hotbot, Excite, and probably some others I’ve long since forgotten.  But those searches were sure so mundane.  So pedestrian.  “Good Halloween Costume,” maybe.  Or, “Red Sox Schedule.”

I didn’t realize the unbreakable magnetism Google held over my life, really, until we got a puppy last May.  That little black furry creature brought a whole bundle of “what the hells” with her.  And a whole new epoch of ridiculous-in-retrospect search queries began.

I’m savvy enough to have long-since discarded lengthy queries with proper sentence structure and punctuation.  I haven’t asked…

Venezuela, here is my voice.

I hear you. Wish I could amplify your message

bvgonzal

A very close SU friend from Venezuela told me one of her friends from home was murdered today. I have been preparing for some days to write this post, and I have asked many fellow SU students if they know about the situation in Venezuela and most people have no idea. This gave me even more motivation, so I would like to share with you the terrible reality that is going on in Venezuela.

Venezuela has been facing economic, social and security problems, among others, caused by the corrupt Venezuelan government. More than 90% of the murders in Venezuela go unpunished. On February 12, Venezuela’s national youth day, students were tired of the injustice and corruption in their country caused by the government, so they started a peaceful riot for their rights. These students were unarmed; they carried flags, cameras, signs and flowers. The police force reacted aggressively and attacked…

New Toshiba Ultrasound Technology Shows Blood Flow Like Never Before

Latest Innovation Will Give Clinicians a Worry-Free Experience So They Can Focus on What Matters Most
December 3, 2013 Updated 1 hour ago

CHICAGO — Ultrasound will be able to depict blood flow with more detail and accuracy using Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.’s new innovative ultrasound technology (works-in-progress). This capability is the latest advancement to Toshiba’s premium Aplio™ 500 ultrasound system, which will help provide clinicians with a worry-free experience.

Despite advances in ultrasound, current imaging techniques struggle to detect microvascular blood flow in areas like the liver, kidneys, abdomen and lymph nodes, because of limitations in conventional Doppler technologies. Toshiba’s new technology will help solve this problem and current evaluations have shown great promise in its ability to characterize tumors.

Dr. Flemming Forsberg, Ph.D., professor of Radiology at Thomas Jefferson University, is impressed with his early analysis of the technology. “The images we’ve produced so far with this technology are stunning,” Forsberg said. “It is able to clearly show low blood flow in small vessels throughout the body. The potential clinical utility for characterizing lesions, cysts and tumors could make ultrasound an even more important tool in diagnoses.”

Dr. Jiro Hata, Ph.D., professor, Dept. of Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Kawasaki Medical School in Japan, an early evaluator of this technology, is excited about its potential. “This level of vascular visualization combined with high frame rates is something we could not do before in ultrasound,” Hata said. “For example, ultrasound can now help with the evaluation of changing blood flow patterns, especially in the gastrointestinal tract.”

“This innovation allows for the visualization of microvascular blood flow never before seen with ultrasound,” said Tomohiro Hasegawa, director, Ultrasound Business Unit, Toshiba. “Expanding ultrasound’s capabilities means safer exams for patients and more cost-effective solutions for hospitals.”

Toshiba is introducing the new technology at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Dec. 1–6, 2013 (Booth #7330, North Hall).

New $250m fund to drive W/Africa’s technology development

December 3, 2013 | Filed under: Technology | Author: Ben Uzor Jr
A new $250 million infrastructure fund has been set up by Convergence Partners, an investment management company, to help bridge Africa’s widening digital divide. The Convergence Partners Communications Infrastructure Fund (CPCIF) is the only fund dedicated solely to Africa’s Information Communications Technology (ICT) sector.

With a first close of $145 million, according to CPCIF, it is one of the largest African based infrastructure funds, notwithstanding its single sector focus. CPCIF, which has a targeted final close of $250 million, aims to invest in communications infrastructure and related services across sub-Saharan Africa, with a clear focus on future investments and development in West Africa.

Convergence Partners further plans to set up a West African office within the next year. The Fund also expects to generate significant returns for investors, while also enabling ICT-driven socio-economic development.

CPCIF reached its first close with capital commitments from the following investors: Convergence Partners (as sponsors), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Dutch Development Bank (FMO), the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) and the CDC Group (CDC).

“As specialist Information Communications Technology (ICT) investors and innovators, Convergence Partners is dedicated to accelerating investment capital, digital access and ICT infrastructure development on the continent,” said Andile Ngcaba, chairman of Convergence Partners.

According to the chairman, the firm would place strong priority on initiatives that increase the availability of communications, broadband services and new technology offerings to African people. The launch of this Fund will enable us to achieve these objectives on a greater scale.”

The African ICT sector has seen significant growth and is a catalyst for economic development. According to a recent report by McKinsey, increased use of the Internet in Africa could result in a contribution of $300 billion a year to the continent’s gross domestic product (GDP) by 2025. The infrastructure, Ngcaba said, to deliver these services remains significantly underdeveloped.

The upgrading, management and ownership of existing and new infrastructure by specialist owners with private capital provides the investment opportunity for CPCIF to achieve its financial and developmental goals.

Convergence Partners’ founders are seasoned pan-African private equity players, experienced in developing value-add investments that deliver shareholder returns whilst underpinning continental transformation.

New tech produces electricity from moving cars

WASHINGTON: Mexican entrepreneurs have developed a new low-cost system that can generate electricity using traffic flow and the technology could soon be used to light up cities.

The development has potential to produce sufficient electricity to power up a household through a device that “catches” the force of the moving cars.

“This is a technology that provides sustainable energy and could be implemented at low prices, since it’s a complement of already existing infrastructure: the concrete of streets and avenues,” Hector Ricardo Macias Hernandez, developer of the system, said.

Hernandez said that at a global level there are no records of similar projects, with exception of an English patent, but with the difference that in the European country piezoelectric floors are used, which are too expensive for developing countries.

The technology consists in a system that integrates a ramp-step – elaborated with polymeric material similar to the ones used in the manufacture of tires – that elevates to five centimetres above the level of the street.

While receiving the impact of the vehicle, this ramp exerts pressure over a bellows.

This artifact contains air that is expelled at a certain pressure through a hose, which travels to a tank where it is compressed and relaunched to an electricity generating turbine.

Hernandez also said that the accumulation of electric energy is proportional to the flow of cars over a determinate spot.

However, in places with low vehicular flow, several ramp-steps could be placed to multiply the impact of every individual vehicle.

The developer added that the technology could also be implemented in places with high pedestrian flow.

This way, the steps of the people would generate electricity according to the laws of gravitational energy, and this principle could be implemented in places like the subway.

According to Hernandez, this development is translated in a source of sustainable energy that implies a low execution cost

traffic on the road had a lazy flow
I’m running out of time now I have to go
so tell me whats the hurry
I should quit bothering myself and

Chorus
Take it easy just living the life and it comes freely thats the bottom line
laid bak and chilling I’m ready and willing
Omo kalo sholide ka wo plane to nlo Spain

Peace walk by the Abuja Interfaith Youth Forum

It was a calm day with clear blue skies mixed with islands of cummunolimbus clouds scattered sparsely giving some form of shade to break the heat wave.
Yes it was the 30th day of the month of September , a day before the 53rd independence anniversary of the most populous black nation in the world “Nigeria.
Initially we were meant to walk about seven kilometers but due to circumstances beyond our control we had to make do with the 300 meter procession from the GTBank closest to the National Mosque straight to the National place of worship.
It was an atmosphere charged with good will and tolerance for all involved. Muslims and Christians alike.
It was a successful exercise due to the fact that after the procession, we all were received with open doors into the National Mosque’s conference hall where we all admonished one another of the importance of peace to the development and growth of a nation.
Clergies and teachers alike were well spoken and we all pledged to be peace ambassadors by taking oaths to promote peace wherever we find ourselves.
Peace as we all know starts from the mind of the individual and expressed to the nearest neighbor through portrayal of love, understanding, tolerance ,respect and all isomers of peace.
I am Tunde Akinsanmi, a youth ambassador of peace. I have a mandate to promote peace

Peace is better than war.
